Essential Ingredients of Collaborative Approach in SQC
essentials
Visionary Administration
The implementation of the Collaborative Approach of SQCs is possible only if the administration has a broader vision.
It is known to everyone that there are hundreds of issues around the world, which cannot be solved by individual communities, or countries. Only a collaborative effort can solve those humongous problems.
The administration of a school cannot ignore the Collaborative Approach if it is sensitive to Environmental issues, International terrorism issues, ever Widening gulf between poor and rich countries, Misunderstandings between different countries, religions/sects and cultures, Outbreak of deadly diseases like, HIV AIDS, Hepatitis, Rise in the production of weapons of mass destruction, etc.
When working with SQCs that belong to a different time zone, the
administration has to adjust timetables and make some other amendments. The commitment of administration to global peace and harmony is imperative.

Dedicated Professionals
The second most important position is of teachers, who will play the roles of facilitators and coordinators, etc.
Creating a non-threatening environment is the key to bring out the best out of students. These dedicated professionals are to help students to understand the importance of global issues and identification of other SQCs that are interested in similar issues, encouraging students when they are frustrated and helping them when they are stuck
essentials
Tools required
Computers with Internet connections
Video conferencing facility (optional)
Modus operandi
Linking website
The role of Internet is central in many ways in this approach. An interactive website has been launched that will help SQCs to:
Identify the groups with the same field of interest.
Exchange their views in live chat rooms
Share their thoughts on notice boards
Publish their work
Present their case studies.
Integrate with other interest groups at the stage of data collection or implementing solutions.
Modus operandi
Interest groups
Before deciding about an interest group, enough work is required to be done for unwrapping the questions asked, to identify the exact interest group
Modus operandi
Time Zone
If collaborating schools are situated in time zones where the difference is more than six hours then some special arrangements are required to make, as one of the school has to use some unsocial hours or school time
Modus operandi
Consistency
A particular day/date and time is to be fixed and known to everyone for regular online meetings to take place.

How to form SQC’s
After ascertaining the interest group on the Linking Website the facilitator of the circle A will contact the facilitator of the circle B . After formal approval, an MOU will be signed between both circles.
suggestions for the formation of circle
Dos
Equal number of members selected from both sides.
If the leader is elected from circle A then the deputy leader must be from the circle B.
Leaders and deputy leaders ensure the complete harmony in the working of both circles.
Facilitators ensure the non-threatening environment and removal of misconception and misunderstandings.
Facilitators ensure similarity in aim and objectives and similar average age of groups.
Facilitators ensure that deadlines are met. This is very important to establish the credibility.
In addition to Linking Website a common web page of both circles is hosted.
One member should be nominated to keep the minutes of meetings and minutes are posted on the common web page regularly
suggestions for the formation of circle
Dont’s
Sensitive issues like genders, religions/sects or some controversial cultural/political aspects should not be selected until the greater understanding is developed among the circles.
Working individually.

During the process
In many ways the working of collaborative approach will be similar to the working of circle made with homogeneous groups in a school. The difference between regular and collaborative circles is that regular circles meet actually, whereas collaborative groups work through Internet and other electronic tools. The other all processes can be adopted as normal SQCs’ practices

Implementations of Solutions
At the level of implementation of solutions, both halves of circles can implement the solutions at their schools, communities or countries and then exchange their finding later

CONCLUSION
A quality person has to be a member of the whole humanity. This approach will foster a greater understanding between the children belonging to different cultures, countries and civilizations. We can bring harmony and peace in the world if we create a deeper understanding with people who belong to different cultures, religions and regions.
